Following the conclusion of an OPCC investigation regarding the calibration of roadside Approved Screening Devices (ASD) used by the Port Moody Police Department, PMPD requested an additional investigation be undertaken by an independent forensic scientist to identify every ASD and associated calibration period where there was an improper calibration-check of the device. The investigation would determine which Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRP’s) were issued using an invalid ASD.

PMPD have received the results of the independent forensic investigation of all IRP’s issued by the PMPD in 2011. It has been determined that of the 174 IRP’s issued, 14 were issued based on an invalid ASD.
