Special Occasion Licence
The Port Moody Police Department requires a Special Occasion Licence (SOL) for a wide range of Private and Public events where liquor will be served. Private events may include weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries or other family type events that are not open to the public. Public events may include community festivals such as the Golden Spike Festival and Ribfest as well as outdoor concerts. These public events are open to anyone who wishes to participate or purchase a ticket.
An SOL is not required if your event is hosted within a private residence or a licensed establishment.
All SOL’s are now required to be completed online at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/employment-business/business/liquor-regulation-licensing/liquor-licence-permits/apply-for-liquor-licence-permit/special-event-permit.
If you are having difficulty with the Special Occasion Licence Online application process please call the SOLO Help Line at 1-855-999-7656.
The Port Moody Police Department will make every effort to review and approve your SOL within a few business days. If there are any concerns or questions about your SOL application our officer will contact you via email or telephone number you have provided in your SOL application. The police may place additional restrictions on or alter the terms and conditions that apply to the licence should they identify potential enforcement concerns.
