SUBJECT:     Locker Room Thefts

PORT MOODY – The Port Moody Police have noted an increase in the number of thefts from fitness facility locker rooms at the Port Moody Recreation Complex since August 2019.  Thieves have been targeting individual day lockers at these facilities and stealing personal items while the owner is engaged in fitness activities.

The Port Moody Police would like to remind the patrons of these public facilities to please leave valuables at home, secure the day locker you choose and report any and all suspicious activity to the facility staff or the police.

The Port Moody Police are working closely with City of Port Moody staff to increase awareness and implement theft prevention strategies, including increased patrols of the locker rooms.
