FILE: 2023-4395 – The Port Moody Police Department has notified the Independent Investigation Office of British Columbia (IIO BC) of an incident in Port Moody where a motorcyclist was injured.
On July 25, 2023 at about 6:30 p.m., a frontline officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop of a motorcycle. The motorcycle allegedly fled from police and soon after collided with a police vehicle in the intersection of Glenayre Drive and Valour Drive. The motorcyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
The IIO BC has been notified of the incident and has asserted jurisdiction. No further information will be released by police at this time. Please direct all inquires to the IIO BC.
