FILE: N/A – The Port Moody Police Department has launched an online crime reporting system.

The public can now report minor crimes and community concerns electronically on the Port Moody Police Department’s website. This online crime reporting system can be used to file reports for incidents in Port Moody such as vandalism, lost property, minor thefts, traffic complaints, graffiti and general community concerns. The tool is not used for in-progress crimes or emergencies. As well, the public can still report non-emergency incidents over the phone at 604-461-3456.

“Port Moody Police are excited to offer this option for citizens to report certain types of crime where the attendance of an officer is likely not necessary” states Chief Constable David Fleugel. “Online crime reporting has become commonplace all over the world and there is a place for it in Port Moody. Calling police using the non-emergency telephone number is still where the majority of complaints are recorded but for those who are comfortable with online reporting, for the types of complaints that are appropriate, we encourage citizens to consider this as an efficient option.”

The online reporting system can be accessed directly by the following link: portmoodypolice.ca/contact/onlinereporting
