PORT MOODY – If you have been trying to reach the Port Moody Police Department via email and have received an undeliverable error message, we apologize for the inconvenience. On October 26, 2019, the Port Moody Police discovered that a computer virus had affected the internal servers of the Department.

This virus was quickly isolated, and although some internal administrative data was corrupted, there has been no disruption to the police records management system and our day-to-day operational policing is not affected.

As a precaution, the Departmental email server has been taken off line temporarily.

Our own Information Technology specialists are working closely with the City of Port Moody Information Services staff to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

There has been no disruption in our ability to receive calls for service. Emergency calls to 911 and non-emergency calls to PMPD are unaffected. The Port Moody Police Department front counter is open usual hours however our ability to perform Criminal Record Checks is unavailable at this time. The impact to our citizens remains primarily with contacting the Department or our members through email.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact our non emergency line at 604-461-3456.
