In the spring of 2019, the Port Moody Police Department received a report of drug dealing occurring in Port Moody.  The drugs were being advertised through Facebook and a variety of webpages, with delivery typically arranged through the use of apps.

The Port Moody Police Community Action Team initiated an investigation which, on January 23, 2020, culminated with the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Coquitlam.  A 37 year old male was arrested at the home.

During the search investigators located a variety of suspected illegal narcotics.  These included psilocybin (mushrooms), cocaine, LSD, steroids, and a variety of substances that have not yet been identified.  A psilocybin cultivation lab and a small marijuana grow operation were also found.

Some of the sheets of suspected LSD paper were decorated with cartoon characters, including Scooby Doo.

Suspected cannabis edibles were also being manufactured on site.

The approximate street value of the drugs that have been identified is $25,000 and approximately $15,000 in cash was also seized.

Charges have not yet been approved and this matter is still under investigation.
