PORT MOODY – On November 10, 2016 at approximately 3:41 PM the Port Moody Police responded to Bert Flinn Park for the report of a physical assault on a twelve year old girl.

 

The twelve year old victim was walking home from a local school through Bert Flinn Park when she was grabbed by an unidentified male.  The victim immediately screamed and fought back causing the male suspect to flee into the wooded area of the park.

 

Numerous Port Moody Police units, Lower Mainland Police Dog Service and RCMP Helicopter AIR 1 attended the area but an extensive search of the area was negative for the suspect.

 

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his mid to late teens.  He was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a dark blue jacket, dark blue jeans and black runners.  The victim described the suspect’s face as being partially covered.

 

The victim and her parents are upset by the incident and Port Moody Victim Services are working with the family.

 

The Port Moody Police Major Crime Section is investigating and further information will be provided when available.
