FILE #2018-4864 PORT MOODY –

At 5:50 the morning of August 17, 2018, the Port Moody Police responded to a report of a despondent male subject needing assistance at a residence in the area of Aspenwood Drive, Port Moody.  There was some indication that this male may have had a weapon in the residence.

All precautions were taken to ensure the safety of everyone involved and as such the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team attended to assist.  Although there was difficulty in communicating with this male, the suite was eventually entered and the male was taken into police custody safely.

The male was transported to hospital for examination.  A firearm was seized from within the residence.

The Port Moody Police are continuing to investigate and we would like to express our thanks and appreciation to our partners in the Coquitlam RCMP and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team who assisted us in resolving the situation safely.
