The Port Moody Police Traffic Section is comprised of 1 Sergeant and 1 Constable. These officers are designated to respond to traffic-related complaints, investigate all serious injury and fatal motor vehicle incidents, and conduct traffic enforcement throughout the city of Port Moody. The Traffic Section is also supported by patrol members that conduct motor vehicle stops and enforce the provisions Motor Vehicle Act.
The promotion of public safety on the roadways of Port Moody is a central objective of the Traffic Section. The targeting of aggressive drivers and focusing on known problem areas are some of the strategies employed to promote public safety. The traffic section works towards these ends by deploying its resources in a number of different modes including marked traffic vehicles, unmarked vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles on any given day in any combination.
