Challenge yourself with the Tri-Cities Motorcycle Challenge on May 27

The Port Moody Police Department, Coquitlam RCMP, and ICBC are partnering up to present the Tri-Cities Motorcycle Challenge on May 27, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This will be an opportunity for all motorcyclists holding a valid Class 6 motorcycle licence to work on their slow-speed motorcycle control drills through cone patterns with which police motorcycle operators train. Police motorcycle operators from Port Moody Police and Coquitlam RCMP will be there to provide tips and guidance to riders.

“This is a great way for motorcycle riders in the Lower Mainland to strengthen their riding skills,” says Corporal Nancy Joyce with Coquitlam RCMP. “It’s also a chance for the public to talk to police officers and ICBC representatives about safety and equipment requirements in a low-stress, friendly environment.”

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness month, and with warmer weather upon us more riders will be hitting the road. It’s important that both drivers and riders practice safe driving to keep our communities safer.

All participants will be required to present a valid Class 6 motorcycle licence. A street-legal motorcycle and appropriate safety gear is also required.
