The Port Moody Police are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to multiple thefts from vehicles which occurred overnight on October 22, 2017 along the 100-block of April Road as well as the 1000-block of Alderside Road in Port Moody.
Investigation revealed that unknown suspects gained access to three unlocked vehicles along April Road and stole a large quantity of sports and hockey equipment, in addition to a Macbook laptop computer and various other items.
Surveillance footage on October 22, 2017 at approximately 4am shows a suspect gain entry to a vehicle and rummage through the vehicle for several minutes prior to leaving the area.
Approximately 20 minutes later a darker-coloured (newer model) Dodge “quad-cab” pickup truck was observed to pull up directly across the street from the parked sedan. Two suspects exited the truck and regained entry to the sedan, stealing approximately $3000 worth of sports equipment including: a hockey bag, skates, hockey sticks, telescope, binoculars and an iPhone 5.
The attached video depicts the suspect truck and two associated suspects.
As of this time it is unknown if a “smash & grab” which occurred earlier in the night to a parked vehicle along Alderside Road is related, however the suspect(s) stole approximately $4000 in golf and curling equipment from a locked vehicle.
Residents of Port Moody are reminded to ensure their vehicles are locked securely and all valuables removed each night, so as not to encourage repeat occurrences.
Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact the Port Moody Police Department or Crime Stoppers (bccrimestoppers.com).
