File: 2021-6707: Police believe a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred in Port Moody is connected to a shooting in Coquitlam.
On December 04, 2021 at about 5 p.m., Port Moody Police assisted Port Moody Fire Rescue with a report of a fully engulfed silver four-door Infiniti sedan. The vehicle had been abandoned on Maude Court near Noons Creek Drive, Port Moody.
Upon police attendance, the fire had been extinguished by firefighters. The fire is suspicious in nature and believed to be connected to a shooting that occurred just minutes prior in North Coquitlam. Based on the possible nexus to the Coquitlam incident, Coquitlam RCMP have assumed conduct of this file. Additionally, Port Moody Police Major Crime Detectives are assisting our partners at the Coquitlam RCMP.
Any potential witnesses, anyone with dash camera footage or anyone with CCTV footage in the area of Noons Creek Drive between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm, is asked to contact the Coquitlam RCMP’s Major Crime Section at 604-945-1550 and quote their file number 2021-33498.
