On January 4, 2018 the Port Moody Police Department received a report of a suspicious occurrence that occurred that afternoon in the area of Glencoe Drive and Glenayre Drive. An older male stopped his vehicle and attempted to speak to a female youth who was walking her dog. The youth did not engage with the male and immediately returned home and called police.
The male is described as Caucasian, 50 to 60 years old, having grey and messy hair, had facial stubble, and wore a bright red sweater.
The vehicle was a newer model grey four door Mazda car.
“We are issuing this advisory out of an abundance of caution and praise for the youth for taking note of the vehicle and the man’s descriptors and for actively leaving a situation they did not feel comfortable with. We have not received any further complaints in relation to this matter and believe it is an isolated incident.”
The Port Moody Police would still like to speak to the driver to determine the reason for his attempted communication.
