Police and the coroner are investigating after a deceased person was located at Rocky Point Park Saturday afternoon.
On December 7, 2024 at about 3:30 p.m., first responders were called to the boat launch at Rocky Point Park for a report of a body floating in the Burrard Inlet.
The person was removed from the inlet and pronounced deceased on scene. At this point in time, police are working with B.C. Coroners Service to identify the deceased person and determined the cause of death.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact our investigators” states Constable Sam Zacharias, adding that “initial information suggests the death is not suspicious in nature.”
UPDATE: Port Moody Police have confirmed the identity of the deceased individual – a man in his 50’s. The matter has been deemed not suspicious and is now a Coroner investigation.
