Please be aware that the City has been notified that a cougar may have been sighted along Shoreline Trail.

It is important that the public be aware of potential cougar and bear encounters at all times.

This is also a reminder that if you do encounter a cougar:

  • Stay calm (the cougar is likely just passing through and will hopefully move on);
  • Keep the cougar in view; and,
  • Back away slowly, ensuring that the animal has a clear avenue of escape.
