PORT MOODY – In the early morning hours on November 26, 2018, Port Moody officers responded to the area of Glenayre Drive in Port Moody, for reports of thefts from vehicles.
While conducting patrols of the area, officers located a suspicious vehicle containing two occupants. Upon attempting to approach the vehicle, it immediately fled from police.
A short time later, officers located the same vehicle, now parked along the 900 block of Seaforth Way. A female passenger remained inside the vehicle, and was quickly arrested, however the male driver had fled on foot into a nearby yard.
With the assistance of K-9, officers tracked down the driver, whom was also arrested without further incident.
Tyrell WOODS (25), of Surrey faces multiple charges including: Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police, and Theft Under $5000. Police are continuing the investigation, and have recommended multiple additional charges against WOODS and his female accomplice.
Police noted that in addition to the above noted charges, WOODS also had an outstanding warrant from West Kelowna RCMP, for possession of stolen property.
Both parties were transported to the PMPD cells where they were held for court.
