SUBJECT: Assisting Toronto Police Service re; Taekwondo Instructor

PORT MOODY- The Port Moody Police Department is aware of a Toronto Police Service investigation involving a Taekwondo instructor whom was recently charged with multiple sexual assaults on students.
On May 2nd, 2018 the Toronto Police Service issued a news release announcing the arrest of Shin Wook Lim, 44 of Woodbridge, Ontario. Lim was charged with 13 sexual offences involving a child, which took place in Ontario between 2015 and 2017.

As part of the investigation it was determined that Lim had previously operated taekwondo training schools in and around the lower mainland, prior to moving to Ontario in 2013, and may have instructed at some point in the city of Port Moody.

At this point the Port Moody Police are unaware of any incidents of sexual misconduct involving Lim occurring within Port Moody, however we are appealing to any of our residents whom may have been victimized to please come forward.

The Port Moody Police is sharing the Toronto Police Service news release and Lims’ photo, in an effort to assist in identifying any potential victims residing in British Columbia.  Link: https://torontopolice.on.ca/newsreleases/40929
