On June 8, 2016 the Port Moody Police Department received a report of a residential break and enter having occurred earlier that day.  Numerous items, including firearms, were taken. Subsequent investigation identified the suspects and it was discovered that they were well known to police throughout the lower mainland.

On October 21, 2016, and in relation to this investigation, members of the Port Moody Police Community Action Team executed a search warrant on a residence in Surrey.  Two people, a male and a female, both from Surrey, were taken into custody for the break and enter.   During the search members located what they believe to be stolen property, which included body armour and an RCMP uniform.

The male and female were ultimately released and this matter is still under investigation.
