On January 16, 2009, at approximately 15:00 hrs. Port Moody police officres responded to a 911 call of a strange male in the residence in the 100 block of Moray St. Upon arrival the police noted the front door of the house was open; the police entered the residence and noted a group of adolescent teens inside. 

The police began obtaining information about the strange male in the residence but quickly realized that the 911 call was a prank initiated by some of the teens.

The police in this incident did not charge the teens for this foolish practical joke, but explained the seriousness of this hoax.

The Port Moody Police would like to remind the public that a call of this nature is treated as a priority response and taken very seriously. The consequence of this prank 911 call could have taken valuable police time and resources away from a legitimate call.
