FILE 2011-4840

AUGUST 1, 2011

On July 31st, 2011 at approximately 10:20 am the Port Moody Police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence located in the 100 block of Brew Street.

Upon arrival the officers were met by a male who is well known to police. The officers requested to speak with the subject’s girlfriend; the male subject advised police that his girlfriend was not in the residence and had left prior to police arrival.

The subjects girlfriend was subsequently located a short time later at Eagle Ridge Hospital with an unrelated medical issue. The officers determined during the investigation that it was a verbal argument and there was no physical assault.

During this time, the mother of the male subject arrived at the residence and began to yell and shout expletives and abuse to both her son and police. The profanities and abusive language continued when they attended Eagle Ridge Hospital; the officers warned both the son and mother of their belligerent, volatile and foul language. Both parties refused to comply and were arrested for causing a disturbance and obstruction.

During the initial search of the residence by police; three sets of body amour and bag of marijuana was found. It was determined during the investigation that there were no legal documents allowing the subject to own the body armour.

The male subject was arrested for the following:

  • Unlawful Possession of Body Armour
  • Possession of CDSA over 30 mgs.
  • Causing a Disturbance
  • Obstruction

The female subject was arrested for the following:

  • Causing a Disturbance
