Detectives from the Port Moody Police Major Crime Section and Port Moody Fire investigators are investigating a fire that occurred last night just after 10:00pm on Forest Park Way in Port Moody.

Two citizens were driving along Forest Park Way when they saw flames and smoke coming from a house and immediately stopped and alerted the people inside. The occupants of the home were able to get out safely due to the heroic efforts of the two concerned citizens and no serious injuries were reported. Unfortunately the home sustained fire and smoke damage and is uninhabitable at this time.

Firefighters were called and were able to put the fire out.

The Detectives from the Port Moody Police Major Crime Section and the Port Moody Fire Investigation Division will work together to determine the cause of the fire.

Anyone with information about this fire, or who was near Forest Park Way at around 10:00pm yesterday evening, and noticed people or vehicles in the area that could now be considered suspicious, is asked to call the Port Moody Police at 604-461-3456 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
