The following are items of interest for the period of May 1-14, 2015:

Property Crime:

Ongoing thefts of liquor from local stores.

A vehicle had the passenger window smashed overnight on Wildwood Drive. Thieves stole two satchels which were abandoned further down the road.

Two vehicles were broken into on Ravine Drive. The driver’s windows were smashed, the cars were rummaged through and change was taken.

A vehicle was broken into on Sentinel Road. The passenger window was smashed and the centre console interior change tray was stolen along with various other small items.

A mother had her baby stroller stolen from her carport on Balmoral Place.

An insecure vehicle was rummaged through overnight on Klahanie Drive.

An insecure vehicle was rummaged through and items stolen overnight from Maple Drive.

Theft from vehicle on Princeton Ave. Window smashed for access and a briefcase stolen.

Theft from vehicle on Yale Rd. Window smashed for access and the owner’s wallet and loose change stolen. Multiple other insecure vehicles were rummaged through on that street.

A vehicle was broken into on Cedarwood Place. A window was smashed and various tools stolen.

The super mailboxes on the area of Parkside Drive (Hett Creek and Eagle Drive) were broken into. If you live there, check for missing bills etc.

A vehicle had the window smashed in the underground of 200 Newport. Thieves stole over $2,000 of personal items from the vehicle.

A convertible was left with the top down and the keys in the centre console. The keys were stolen. The owners then had to re-key the car, residence and business. Please don’t leave keys or garage openers in vehicles.

Theft from vehicle on Union Drive. Change and sunglasses stolen.

A residence was broken into on 1st avenue. Access was gained by smashing a window.

An insecure vehicle on Charles st was rummaged through overnight but nothing was stolen.

Road Safety:

A 53 year old male was issued a 90 day driving prohibition for drinking and driving. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

A 48 year old male was issued a 3 day driving prohibition for drinking and driving.

A 54 year old male had his vehicle impounded for excessive speed (roughly 100 Km/h in a 50 km/h residential area).

A 29 year old male was issued a 24hr driving prohibition for driving while high on marijuana.

A 47 year old female was issued a 90 day driving prohibition for refusing to provide a breath sample.

A 23 year old male was issued a 24hr driving prohibition for driving while under the influence of marijuana. The occupants claimed to be driving home from a marijuana dispensary in Vancouver. Officers seized 47grams of marijuana, LSD tablets, marijuana brownies and THC oil.

100 Tickets have been issued. Predominantly written warnings for 900 Blk of Clarke Rd and the Barnet Hwy.

Miscellaneous:

A known offender was arrested for breaching his conditions as well as possession of break and enter instruments.

A 38 year old male was arrested after police located him driving a stolen motorcycle. Police located a double barrelled sawed-off shotgun in his backpack with ammunition. The male had outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions and he was breaching conditions not to possess weapons. The male was held for court on various charges.
