The following are items of interest for the period of Feb. 23 – Mar. 15, 2015.

Property Chrime:

On February 23 at 40 year old male from Vancouver stole over $150 of vodka from a local liquor store. Officers located the male as he was attempting his getaway.

Two males stole over $200 worth of fragrances from a local store.

An unidentified female stole shoes and a ring from a local store for a value of $40.

Multiple work vehicles were broken into on Columbia Street overnight on Feb. 25th. Over $4,000 in equipment was stolen.

A work van was broken into in the 2000 Blk St. Johns street with over $4,700 in equipment stolen.

A work van was broken into on Panorama Drive. Thieves stole over $10,000 of scientific equipment.

Thefts from vehicles along Ravine Dr, Timbercrest Pl, 1300 Blk David Ave, Charles St. Clarke st, James Rd, We have two main methods of thefts from vehicle’s occurring: someone smashing windows to gain access and the others leaving no damage and no sign of point of entry whatsoever.

A stolen F350 was found outside Edward Crescent area. The vehicle, stolen from Burnaby, was abandoned by 2 males in the early hours of Feb. 28th.

A vehicle was stolen from Shoreline Circle. While investigating, Police recovered a stolen F350 from Vancouver in the area.

A vehicle was stolen from Cardiff way.

Officers recovered a stolen Jeep that was left running in a McDonald’s parking lot.

Thieves attempted to steal a car from Murray St / Electronic Avenue.

A winch was stolen off someone’s personal vehicle.

A single-seat child bike carrier was stolen from Balmoral Drive.

A young man gave a ride to some friends. When he dropped them off, he realized one of them had stolen his Iphone. Police were able to “arrange” for the phone’s return. If you have teens or young adults in your life, please remind them to be diligent in keeping their phones safe. Sadly, we take a great deal of calls like these where someone known to the victim is the thief.

A storage locker at 295 Guildford way was broken into. Golf equipment was stolen. If you live in the building, please check your lockers for any problems.

On March 8, 2015 PMPD responded to a break and enter at Glencoe Elementary School. Officers located and arrested two youths for break and enter. Police recovered musical instruments stolen from the school.

A woman in her 40’s stole over $500 in liquor from a local store. Police located her waiting near the bus stop at Newport.

A ring and watch were stolen from a local exercise studio while participants were working out.

On March 12, 2015 PMPD responded to a theft from a local store (stealing over $600 of over the counter drugs). A foot pursuit ensued with a female running through a greenbelt then into a local store before being apprehended. Her male accomplice was found hiding behind garbage cans in a yard. The male is facing charges of theft under $5000 and Obstructing a peace officer.

Two males attempted to rob a local store at knifepoint. Police located the suspects fleeing a few blocks away. A 20 year old male and a 15 year old male are facing charges.

Road Safety:

PMPD responded to a report of a large SUV that had struck multiple parked vehicles. The driver was taken to hospital for treatment due to the collision. He was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and driving while suspended.

A 26 year old female was issued a 90 Day driving prohibition for drinking and driving. Her vehicle was impounded.

A 32 year old male had his BMW impounded for excessive speed (over 110 Km/h in a 60 km/h area).

A 25 year old male had his parent’s vehicle impounded for excessive speed (over 120 km/h in a 50 km/h area)

A 48 year old male was issued a 90-day driving prohibition for impaired driving.

A 25 year old female was issued a 90 day driving prohibition for impaired driving.

A 19 year old male was issued a 24hr driving prohibition for driving while under the influence of marijuana.

A 38 year old male was issued a 90 day driving prohibition for impaired driving.

A 38 year old female was issued a 3 day driving prohibition for drinking and driving.

A 36 year old male was issued a 3 day driving prohibition for drinking and driving.

A 34 year old male was issued a 90 day driving prohibition for drinking and driving. Police also seized a small amount of marijuana off the male.

A 42 year old male was issued a 24hr driving prohibition for drinking and driving.

A 28 year old male was issued a 90 day driving prohibition for impaired driving.

A 32 year old male had his motorcycle towed for excessive speed (over 100 Km/h in a 50 km/h area).

Please plan for safe rides home.

269 tickets were issued (mostly written warning tickets). Expect increased enforcement along Dewdney Trunk Rd and the Barnet Hwy. It is distracted driving awareness month, so please leave your phone alone while driving.

Miscellaneous.

A group of teens were found smoking marijuana at their cars. Due to sobriety concerns, their respective parents were called to deal with the vehicles and a small amount of marijuana and a large bong were seized.

Police were called to a residence for a report of a male causing a disturbance and breaking dishes. Police determined the male had an outstanding warrant and he was subsequently arrested.

An officer located a suspicious vehicle and persons in a parking lot. In the course of his investigation the officer arrested a male for drug possession and seized quantities of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin.

Police observed a male openly smoking marijuana at a bus stop. A joint was seized for destruction.

Officers dealt with an intoxicated male picking fights with patrons and security at a local establishment.
